In the sea of martial arts, there are only a couple that are truly effective at providing you with basic and advanced methods of self-defense. Before entering the training program of any single martial art, it’s our firm belief that you will need to do a bit of research on said martial art. This is for the simple reason that you may spend your life trying to learn something that has no basis in the real world. We’re talking something like the use of chi energy to manipulate your opponent’s strength and make them do backflips with the flip of your fingers. While it’s really amusing to watch videos of this on YouTube – it still doesn’t have a firm basis in the real world.
Now, if you’re after learning a high-quality martial art that may actually help you to protect yourself if you’re (God forbid) attacked on the street, then you should try Muay Thai.
Our best recommendation would be for you to go to Thailand and there find a Muay Thai training camp.As the birthplace of Muay Thai, the best chance of you finding a high-quality teacher that will be able to tell you all about Muay Thai and to teach you how to use it effectively are excellent only in Thailand.
No matter if it is for the reason of learning self-defense methods, or if you just wish to have some fun and learn something new on the side – or if you wish to improve your health and become stronger and more vibrant – then there’s hardly a better choice for you than to travel to Thailand and train Muay Thai there.
Sadly, there are many people that would read this, then feel inspired and think up how they have to go to Thailand – but once this initial inspiration wanes off they will convince themselves that Muay Thai “isn’t for them’. The truth is that no matter who you are, you can still learn Muay Thai. Unless you have some serious disease (and in such a case you will need a doctor’s clearance before proceeding with your intentions to train Muay Thai), then you will be able to train Muay Thai. There is simply no excuse. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman, or overweight, or underweight, or short or tall, or fit or unfit. You can train Muay Thai and improve your life in many different ways at Muay Thai boxing camp – no matter who you are!
So, what we’re trying to say is… live your life, however, you want to live it. And if it seems like a good thing to do for you to go to Thailand and learn Muay Thai – then, by all means, knock yourself out. You will realize once you do this that it wasn’t nearly as difficult as you most likely made it out to be and that you will have fun while improving yourself. Don’t let us hold you any longer and go to Thailand as soon as you can.
