When Planning Your Wedding, Don’t Forget To….

Whether it’s your first or your fifth, your wedding day is an important one. It’s a day when you make a commitment to the person you love in front of family and friends. It’s a day that you want to remember forever, because it was exactly how you managed it and not because you forgot a bunch of things.

In order to make your wedding go off without a hitch, it’s important to make sure you check every plan down to the details. Here are some tips to follow to help you have a wonderful wedding day.

Make Lists

Whether or not you forget things easily, it’s important to write lists. You can create as many as you want. You can have a list for each timeline and each event, if need be. Your list should be laid out in a way that you can easily check things off as they are completed.

Your lists will include time points, depending how quickly you plan to get married. Most people are engaged for a year or so prior to marriage and start planning right after the engagement is announced. You’ll have lists of what decor you’ll need, who you’re inviting, what clothing is needed and where it’s coming from, and so much more.

Pre-Planning

It’s in your pre-planning stages that you’ll need to determine things like colors, how many guests to invite, how much money you have to spend. You may want to make it a do-it-yourself wedding so you can save money or maybe you’ll want to splurge and spend every cent you have.

Pre-planning gives you a chance to use your imagination. Visualize your wedding from beginning to end. Start mapping out seating and seeing who is walking down the aisle as best man and maid of honor. Is it going to be a small wedding or a huge one? All of this matters, especially when it comes to booking your venue.

Plan and Schedule Ahead

While some people choose to get married at home or someplace in their hometown, others prefer to make a getaway and have their wedding somewhere else. If this is your plan, you’ll want to make sure you book the place you want ahead of time so that your wedding happens when you want it to and you don’t have to change plans last minute because someone else already booked the space.

Look for a place that has easy access to rooms for your guests, and also reserve the amount of rooms you plan to need ahead of time so the wedding party can stay together and no one is left without a place to stay. Finding an all-in-one wedding venue is a great idea if you are traveling for your nuptials. This can save you time, money and a headache or two!

Just remember, your are pledging yourself to the one you love and the wedding is about making the two of you happy, so always do what makes you happy!
