"Who are we?" a recent New York Times headline asked. The article, written by Dr. Richard A. Friedman, questioned how doctors are going to answer questions from adults who have taken antidepressants since they were teenagers. Friedman wrote that since we develop most of our self-identity when we are teenagers, these medicated adults cannot differentiate their own personality from the symptoms of the drugs such as anxiety, low sex-drive and an inability to orgasm.

I'm a new student at PSU, and I appreciate the diversity of opinions and beliefs on our campus. Over the past few months, I've heard some fairly offensive messages expressed on the Park Blocks, and usually I can hold my tongue and laugh them off.

Believing in my potential and commitment to serving PSU, I ran for the student body presidency and lost. Despite the results, I remained true and honest to myself and those around me, met many students from all over campus and gained rewarding experiences along the way. Because of all of this, I am walking away as a better person.
